Çoinbase Pro | Digital Asset Exchange
San Francisco-based bitcoin exchange and wallet Coinbase was established in 2012.
An estimated 20 million people are being served by the digital currency exchange, with the US leading the way.
Within a year of being founded, Coinbase became the most well-funded cryptocurrency business and is now the largest exchange globally.
The initial members of Coinbase's founding team were Brian Armstrong, Fred Ehrsam, and Ben Reeves (Blockchain.info co-founder).
They broke off their relationship with the team because some of them had different ideas about how they intended the wallet to function. Later, Armstrong and Ehrsam joined in the summer 2012 programme of the Y-Combinator Startup incubator.
The business introduced a platform for buying, selling, and using fiat bank transfers along with Bitcoin in 2012.
A Series A investment in the rapidly expanding cryptocurrency wallet and exchange was made, totaling around $5 million USD.
Fred Wilson of Union Square Ventures was in charge of the investment funds.
