• The initial members of Coinbase's founding team were Brian Armstrong, Fred Ehrsam, and Ben Reeves (Blockchain.info co-founder).

• They broke off their relationship with the team because some of them had different ideas about how they intended the wallet to function. Later, Armstrong and Ehrsam joined in the summer 2012 programme of the Y-Combinator Startup incubator.
